Information handled on your device

To provide its features, Motivator may process and store:

• Outdoor location samples, route, distance, pace, pause events, and moving time.
• Apple Health running workouts, heart rate, active energy, and distance when you grant access.
• Completed run summaries, splits, pace samples, training plans, coaching history, and app preferences.
• Up to three photos you choose for a completed run.
• Downloaded or generated coach audio cached for playback.

This detailed history stays in Motivator’s local app container. Motivator does not send your route, photos, heart rate, or full run history to the developer’s servers.

Information sent for online coaching

When online premium coaching is available, Motivator creates an anonymous Supabase account and sends a small coaching request through the developer’s server. A request can contain your selected coach, coaching event, elapsed time, distance, pace, preferred units, recent coach lines, limited running-history counts, and limited plan context such as session type, target pace, plan week, or days until a race.

Requests use a random event identifier and may use a per-run identifier for allowance enforcement. They do not include your name, email address, route coordinates, photos, HealthKit identifiers, or free-form journal content. The service uses OpenRouter to generate the coaching text and ElevenLabs to generate the voice audio. Supabase, OpenRouter, and ElevenLabs process the limited request data needed to provide those services. Technical request records may also be processed for security, reliability, entitlement verification, and rate limiting.

Apple Health and location

Health access is optional. Motivator reads past running workouts and available live metrics to personalize coaching, and writes completed workouts and routes to Apple Health. Motivator never uses Health data for advertising or sells it.

Precise location is used during an outdoor run—including in the background—to calculate distance and pace and save the route. It is not used for advertising or sent with online coaching requests. You can change Health and location permissions in iOS Settings; without them, affected tracking features may be unavailable.

Purchases, notifications, and Apple services

Subscriptions are purchased and verified with Apple StoreKit. Apple processes payment and transaction data; Motivator may send Apple’s signed entitlement information and an opaque anonymous account identifier to its server to verify access. Motivator does not receive your card details.

If you enable training reminders, their schedule is stored locally and delivered through Apple’s notification system. Apple also processes information when you use HealthKit, Maps, Live Activities, iCloud device backup, or the system share sheet. Apple’s handling is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Tracking, advertising, and sale

Motivator contains no third-party advertising and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. The developer does not sell your personal information.

Storage, sharing, and deletion

Your detailed app data remains on your device until you delete individual runs, use Delete local run history, or remove the app, subject to device backups you control. Sharing a run card uses Apple’s system share sheet and occurs only when you choose it.

Use Delete account and all data in Motivator Settings to delete the anonymous online account and local runs, photos, recovery data, and cached coach audio. Apple Health workouts remain in the Health app and must be managed there. Subscription records remain subject to Apple’s legal and operational retention.

Security, children, and changes

Motivator relies on Apple’s app sandbox and stores sensitive local files using iOS data protection. Network requests use encrypted HTTPS connections. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Motivator is not directed to children under 13. This policy may change as the app’s features or providers change; the effective date will be updated when a revision is published.
